Prior to coming to Hoglund Law, Debbie worked for Advocates for Basic Legal Equality (ABLE) in Toledo, Ohio as an AmeriCorp attorney. During her time there, she focused on immigration, employment, and housing law. She successfully argued a wage dispute in the United States District Court of Northern Ohio. Following her time at ABLE, Debbie was a solo practioner working in general law with a focus on family and immigration law and was also a public defender in the juvenile division for Lucas County. At that time, Debbie also advocated for children as a guardian ad litem.
Debbie returned to legal aid in Las Vegas, Nevada at Legal Aid Center for Southern Nevada. While practicing there, she primarily dedicated herself to family and immigration law. Again, she helped clients with VAWA claims and parents in custody disputes.
