Doug Weimerskirch
Doug has a long history of advocacy and brings his passion for helping others to Hoglund Law as an associate attorney in the bankruptcy practice. A lifelong resident of the Twin Cities area, Doug attended the University of Minnesota where he obtained a B.S. in Business. Later, he graduated magna cum laude from the University of St. Thomas School of Law in 2011. He is currently admitted to practice in the District Court for the State of Minnesota and the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.
During law school he participated in both an externship and clinical experience to gain practical skills. Doug’s participation in the immigration law clinic eventually led him to a post-graduation fellowship in Rwanda, East Africa where he used his research and writing skills to provide legal aid to abused children. He has also worked in legal managed services and has developed content area expertise in banking, intellectual property, patents, pharmaceuticals, and other complex issues.
Practicing in the area of bankruptcy provides Doug a chance to continue his advocacy by helping others find relief from crippling debt. He brings both critical thinking and compassion to his practice as he helps people get a fresh start and renewed hope for a better financial future. Doug will often be found representing clients in their 341 hearings with creditors.
Away from the office Doug is an avid curler playing both recreationally and competitively. In warmer months he enjoys biking and inline skating the many area parks and trails.
